The 2016-2017 curriculum will be packed with rigorous and challenging course work for our students. With the college acceptance much more competitive today, we must put opportunities in place that will best prepare them for the challenge of post high school. In adjacent with the college readiness course given to each of our LET levels, Advanced Placement and honors courses are offered to the 9-12th grades, and here at BCHS, we are continuing our new program this upcoming year -The College Board Capstone Diploma option.
Additionally, BCHS will continue to offer Dual Enrollment courses in conjunction with St. Petersburg College on our campus for 11th and 12th grade students. We have expanded our program with PTC (Pinellas Technical College) South where students can earn industry certifications in Automotive Technology, Automotive Collision, Electrical, Plumbing, Photography, and other career areas.
Course selection is an important decision which should be made only after considering your ability, future academic and career goals, and your personal interests. As part of the course selection process you should carefully plan for all four years of high school so that you have a clearly defined course of study. Students should consult their parents, teachers, and guidance counselors to make the most informed decisions.
